PALISADE, Colo. (KKCO) - Now that spring break has come to a close, students are back to the books and athletes are back on the grid getting ready to come out strong in this week's round of games.
The Palisade Bulldogs jumped to a number nine ranking in the post preps 4A poll last week. This week, they're still holding tight to that spot and not letting any Western Slope teams creep in.
On Tuesday, the Bulldogs will have a non-conference test against some local competition - the Grand Junction Tigers. The Tigers jumped to an intimidating 5-0 start but have since fallen in three straight tournament games and been knocked out of the top ten 5A rankings.
The Bulldogs take that fall with a grain of salt, knowing that in the world of sports a team can have their worst game one day, only to follow it up with their best performance of the season.
