DELTA, Colo. (KKCO) -- After falling at home to Rifle, tenth-ranked Palisade bounced back to beat rival Delta 49-14 in the western slope league regular season finale on Friday.

The Bulldogs (8-2, 5-2) led 28-0 at the half, which was capped off by a JT Townsend touchdown run. But Delta clawed back in the third quarter. The Panthers (4-6, 2-5) got a long touchdown run out of Alex Standish, and then a 70-yard touchdown pass and catch from Mitchel Whiteside to Colin Fraser.

Palisade responded when it needed to, calling on Quinn Zamora for a 4th and 1 conversion, which turned out to be a touchdown run for the senior fullback.

The Bulldogs will likely travel for their first round playoff game next weekend.
