HS VOLLEYBALL: Palisade and Fruita dominate

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The Palisade Bulldogs claimed sole possession of the WSL with a 3-1 win over Delta, and Fruita Monument ended their regular season with a sweep at Central.

Palisade (16-3, 10-1) won their first WSL on Saturday for the first time since 2004, but they needed one more win to secure sole possession of the title. They will play one more game in Glenwood Springs on Oct. 20 before the district playoffs.

Fruita Monument (12-6, 5-4) capped off a successful 2011 season with a sweep over the Warriors (5-12, 3-4). Central still has two more road games on the front range before they conclude their season.
