GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Friday night's Overtime featured three high school games and Colorado Mesa wrapping up their homestand.
In high school the Grand Junction Lady Tigers continued their win streak by adding a 35-25 victory to their resume, improving to 11-0.
The Palisade Lady Bulldogs suffered a late heart-breaker as they gave up 13 points to Steamboat in their come-from-behind win. The Bulldogs fell 46-45. The boys were unable to get ahead in their game, as the Sailors took the lead and kept with it for the 55-38 win. Both Palisade teams got their first loss in league play.
In college ball, the Lady Mavericks cruised to yet another victory - their 14th of the season. They took down UC-Colorado Springs 64-46 but early on CMU had their fans worried. They fell into a 10-0 deficit but were quick to pick up before it was too late, pulling into a 15-15 tie late in the first half.
Three Mavericks scored in double digits - Aubry Boehme, Sharaya Selsor, and Erin Reichle.
The men took the stage next hoping to break their 3-game losing skid with a win opposite UC-Colorado Springs, a team having their best season in school history. It was a back-and-forth night that would be decided in the final seconds when Joe Kiely came away with the game-winning layup 83-82.
Ryan Stephan led the way with a career-high 26 points as the Mavs improved to 6-4 in the RMAC. CMU travels to Western State for their next game January 18th.
