Eagles Soar Into 2A Championship Game

The Paonia High School girls' basketball team will be playing for the 2A state title on Saturday after defeating the Hayden Tigers (23-3) in the semi-finals 48-33 on Friday night.

Paonia (25-1) was led by Jordan Rinks' 16 points and Brittany Vernard's 13 points in the win. Jamie Reed and Joanna Reed each scored five for the Eagles.

Paonia will now face the defending state champion Wray Eagles (25-1) on Saturday night at 7:00 on the campus of CSU-Pueblo.
