Paonia girls win state title; Olathe falls in consolation game

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (KKCO) -- The Paonia girls basketball team captured the 2A State Title, beating No. 3 Akron 43-39 in Fort Collins on Saturday.

The No. 1 Eagles trailed 38-36 with 1:22 to play. Johanna Reed and Jordyn Reinks scored the last seven points for Paonia to slide them past the Rams.

In 3A, No. 3 Olathe fell 41-34 to No. 4 Pagosa Springs in the consolation game.
