PAONIA, Colo. (KKCO) Downtown Paonia was jumping Monday night, even as the sun went down.
The whole town came out to help Paonia High School and its football team celebrate its recent state championship in the 1A class. Players were escorted by the town fire trucks.
It was a well-earned celebration that meant so much to the team, school and town itself.
But perhaps the most impacted was the group of seniors who struggled with mediocre seasons for three years, only to see everything come together in their last go-round, and forming a brotherhood with the others on the field.
