GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- The No. 2 Hotchkiss Bulldogs smoked the Paonia Eagles in the North Fork Bowl 48-0 to secure a 1A WSL championship.
The Bulldogs (8-0, 4-0) did not get off to their usual hot start, but they picked up the pace in the second quarter. Jaime Rodriguez led the team with four touchdowns, and the Hotchkiss defense put up their second shut out of the season. This is the also the fifth time that the Bulldogs have held their opponents to single-digit points.
Next up the Hotchkiss will travel to Meeker on Oct. 28 for their final regular season game. Paonia (4-4, 2-2) will conclude their season at home against Rangley on Oct. 28.
