After day one of the state tournament, the Eagles are one game away from the State Finals. (7)Paonia started the day with an extra-inning win over (10)Sargent, 5-4. Then the Eagles kept rolling over (2)Las Animas, 2-1.
That leaves Paonia against (3)Resurrection Christian on Friday for the State semis. In the other semifinal, (5)Byers is facing (1)Rye.
