Mead, Colo. (AP) One person has been airlifted to a hospital following a small explosion and fire at a chemical manufacturing plant in Mead.

The blast occurred about 7 a.m. Friday at Boulder scientific company.

Weld County Undersheriff Margie Martinez says 37-year-old Leslie Robertson of Loveland was burned in the incident, and was taken by air ambulance to University of Colorado hospital.

Martinez says no other injuries were reported, and that the
Building's sprinkler system extinguished the fire.

The extent of Robertson's injuries, and his condition, are not known.

The cause of the blast and ensuing fire are under investigation.
