Westminster, Colo. (AP) A teenager is suspected of fatally stabbing his friend's father while spending the night at his friend's house.

Sixty-three-year-old Hans Winter of Westminster died Sunday at a hospital after surgery for his injuries.

Police say the 17-year-old suspect is a longtime friend of the man's son. The suspect, whose name wasn't released, was taken to a juvenile detention center.

Winter's wife told police she woke up early Sunday morning to find that her husband had been stabbed.

The teenage suspect fled but was arrested after police searched the area.
