Saguache, Colo. (AP) Investigators say skeletal human remains were found burning in a barrel in southern Colorado last weekend, and blood and clothing were found nearby.

Saguache County Sheriff Mike Norris says the remains were found Saturday in remote ranching country about 12 miles west of Saguache and about 125 miles southwest of Denver.

Little information has been released, including the victim's name and the cause of death.

The remains have been sent to the El Paso County Coroner in Colorado Springs for an autopsy. Results are expected later in the week.

Norris says the Colorado Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the investigation.
