A controversial proposal to build a new uranium mine in Montrose County will be back on the table for the third time during a planning commission meeting Wednesday night.
The meeting kicks off at 6 p.m. in Friendship Hall.
The Planning Commission will decide whether to recommend approval of a special use permit for the Pinon Ridge Mill near Nucla.
The meeting is a continuation of two previous meetings where hundreds of residents spent hours voicing their opinions to the commission.
Public comment was closed after the last meeting but county officials, in light of recent changes to the permit request, say there may be time for more public comment on those changes only at the end of the meeting.
Once the Planning Commission votes, the permit makes its way to the Montrose County Commissioners.
