Breckenridge, Colo. (AP) – It was a busy travel weekend in the high country despite the recession.
More than 47,000 vehicles passed through the Eisenhower Tunnel on Friday, making it the tunnel's fifth busiest travel day ever. Volume was just above that of July 3, 2003.
Sunday was another busy travel day. Eastbound traffic between Vail and Denver caused delays and heavy traffic all afternoon.
