Indictments have been issued in the case a 15-year-old boy who died while taking part in a wilderness-based program have been turned over to prosecutors.

Caleb Jensen died May 2, 2007 near Montrose. The Mesa County Coroner's office says Caleb was suffering from a bacterial infection at the time.

He was under order of Utah's division of juvenile services to be enrolled in the program called Alternative Youth Adventures. AYA has worked in Montrose since 2000, focusing on self-esteem and team-building projects for Colorado and Utah youths ages 12 to 18.

AYA, which is owned and operated by New Jersey-based Community Education Services incorporated, has been indicted for criminally negligent homicide and child abuse resulting in death. Also indicted are Dr. Keith Hoooker, James Omer and Ben Askins for similiar crimes.

The possible penalties range for the crimes is one to twelve years in prison, plus parole with possible fines of up to $750,000
