FRUITA, Colo. (KKCO) - Santa made a special trip back in time to have breakfast with kids in Fruita Saturday. Dinosaur Journey hosted the meal and sing–a–long inside its prehistoric exhibit. As if seeing Santa wasn't exciting enough, around 50 kids and their families were able to check out robotic dinosaurs and artifacts, as well as sitting down for a special reading with Mrs. Clause. Event organizers say Christmas is the perfect opportunity to get children excited about learning about history.

"We want to capture children's hearts in museums early on so that they are life long visitors and this just kind of fit...it's been a really fun event and we raised money for the Museum Western Colorado," says Kay Fiegel, Dinosaur Journey's director.

This is the 13th year the Museum of the West has put on a breakfast with Santa.
