Grand Junction, Colo (KKCO) - Wednesday night at Redlands Middle School students sang the American debut of a song called "my dear future friends."
The song was written by a Swiss man in support of the victims of the Japan tsunami. During the Wednesday performance the students sang the song in Japanese.
Choir director Scott Betts says it was a challenge for the students to learn the song in Japanese,
but the students where excited to perform the song in front of their friends and family.
Betts also says "we put our own little taste on it and the kids I know they we're excited about being the first you know it's kind of inspiring to get to be the group that debut a piece of music in the country."
The choir is also fundraising to help out the victims of the tsunami. They have one more performance Thursday morning in front of the entire school.
