Best of the West Music Festival concludes today
Best of the West Select Bands wraps up the Best of the West Music Festival with a concert today at Colorado Mesa University at 3:30 P.M.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo (KKCO) – Best of the West Select Bands wraps up the Best of the West Music Festival with a concert today at Colorado Mesa University at 3:30 P.M.

Best of the West Music Festival, sponsored by Karen Combs, has been underway since Thursday and concludes this afternoon with a concert featuring select high school students from across Colorado.

The first band to perform this afternoon is the Wind Symphony, with guest conductor Wendy McCallum. The band will perform five pieces, including a song by composer-in-residence Kimberly K. Archer.

The second band to perform is the Symphonic Band, with guest conductor Butch Eversole. This band will also perform five pieces, the first of which is another song by Archer.

Students included in these honor bands are from across Colorado. The schools represented by students are Rangeview, Bennett, Moffat County, Deer Trail, Grand Valley, Grand Junction, Palisade, Soroco, West Grand, Cedaredge, Whitehorse, Highland, Skyline, Fruita Monument, Olathe, Middle Park, Frontier Academy, Central, Glenwood Springs, Delta, Clear Creek, ThunderRidge, and Fruita 8/9.
