Highline Lake opens up to boaters for the 2012 season

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- This weekend Highline Lake welcomed boaters to the state park for the first time in the new season.

Due to warmer, spring-like temperatures, the lake has experienced its first handful of fishers for the warm-water fishing season. Although the boat ramp on the east-end of the lake is closed due to lower water levels, the west-end ramp is available for use.

The state park also has 31 campsites open to the public for the new season, as well as numerous hiking and biking trails.

    That place Blows. The CPW is too busy helping the USFWS killing game fish on the CO River than to give a #$#$ about High Line. BTW any body see the new multi million dollar trash fish hatchery they have built down by Snooks Bottom in Fruita. Maybe 11 news should report about that!

      Since now, there is no fear of these incompetent Federal or State agents being video taped and put on youtube. Let us get videos of them killing the Game fish that the Majority of the People want, and make fools out of them replacing them with those garbage fish that we don’t want. Lets send these nut enviro-wackos-nut-jobs back in hiding where they belong.

      It is already becoming a National Issue and it will only be a little time before people stop spending money in Colorado for sport fishing and hunting. I guess Colorado doesn’t need any revenue for the fish and Game employees. Only time before they are fired also.
