DENVER (AP) -- A snowstorm sweeping across the Great Plains has left drifts up to 10 feet high in Colorado's Southeastern corner.

That report came from Baca County, where 15 inches of snow fell through Tuesday morning.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid says several of accidents overnight that included an injury accident involving a tractor-trailer prompted the closure of Southbound Interstate 25 South of Pueblo into New Mexico.

Reid says many of the accidents involved people sliding off the road.

Colorado Transportation Officials say hotels along I-25 southern Colorado are full of stranded travelers.

Many smaller highways in Southeast Colorado have also been closed because of the weather.
