Thanksgiving is the kick-off (pardon my football pun) to the holiday season, full of family gatherings and festivities. Whether you are hosting a holiday dinner at your home, or attending a different celebration, Christmas and New Years are just around the corner.
There is a lot of decorating for Christmas to be done, and why not take advantage of all of your family being over for a Thanksgiving meal to help share in the fun of putting it all up? Here are some ideas to work off some of that turkey dinner in a fun and creative way:
Also, when attending another family member or friend's Thanksgiving dinner, it's always polite to bring something along. Whether it is a bottle of cranberry wine, tasty side dish, or delectable dessert, the thought is appreciated.
In my family, we always bring along a "Thanksgiving present" for whoever is hosting the dinner. This could be something as simple as a scented candle or special ornament. The idea is to pick something special and inexpensive as a way of showing thanks to a gracious host.
This provides the host with two forms of enjoyment: a reminder through the rest of the holidays that you are thankful for them, and also a festive treat to get in the Christmas spirit.
Talk to friends and family about what traditions they enjoy most and create your own special memories together.
