CMU Baseball: (11) Mavericks start final regular season homestand with win

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Colorado Mesa continues to dominate on their home field. Thursday night they opened a series against Colorado Christian and added to the win column with a 14-4 victory, improving to 21-0 at Suplizio Field.

Backed by incredible defense, the Mavs kept the visiting Cougars to just four runs. Tyler Dunnington pitched his way through five innings in his first career start, allowing two runs on four hits and eventually earning his first win of the season.

On offense, Mesa had a big night. They scored 14 runs on 15 hits. Kevin Mitchell paved the way going 3-for-4 with two runs and an RBI.

The teams play again in a doubleheader starting at 3:30 on Friday.
