GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) - Over the weekend, the Colorado Mesa baseball team started off the regional tournament in Kingsville, Texas with a win.

Unfortunately, they fell in two straight to be knocked off the bracket and sent back to grand junction.

Even though their 2013 season came to an end, they made it one to remember.

The Mavericks have consistently been on top of the RMAC standings as one of the strongest contenders in the conference; this season was no different. In fact, they blew away their competition.

CMU finished the regular season 35-3 and eventually took the number two seed in the South Central Regionals. Though their season ended in Kingsville, it was still another banner season.

Nate Robertson was named RMAC player of the year. Matt Williams was named pitcher of the year, and Mesa's head coach Chris Hanks received his second straight coach of the year award.

The list of honors continues with over 12 players from this year's squad being recognized for the year-end awards.
