CMU Volleyball: Mavericks late rally falls short in the RMAC quarterfinals

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Colorado Mesa Mavericks suffered a heartbreaking loss after taking Coloardo Christian to four sets.

CCU would be quick to jump ahead of Mesa, taking a 2-0 lead, leaving the Mavericks to feel the pressure. They felt it and made use of it. They jumped to a quick lead in the third set, but started to lose their spark late, but they'd hold on for the 28-26 win.

In the fourth, the Mavericks had to play catch up once again. They trailed 24-21 but rallied back for the 26-25 lead. Unfortunately it'd be a back-and-forth battle in which Colorado Christian ended with the victory.

Colorado Mesa's season ends after the 3-1 loss. Abby Ney finished with 16 kills, Melissa Hess followed with 10. Jordyn Moody added 45 assists, and Sunni Rae Baird grabbed 21 digs.
