GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. It's a big weekend for the CMU women's lacrosse team as they begin RMAC play in Durango Sunday against Fort Lewis College.
They're currently sitting at 5-3, which is the best record they've had in the program's four-year history.
CMU already met Fort Lewis in their first game of the season. It was a non-league game they lost 14-7, but the Mavs are on a three-game win streak right now. and coach Abby Simpson says the team she has today is exponentially better than it was back in late February.
"Now they're trusting each other, they're working together, they're passing the ball, and they have so many assists this year because we keep feeding the ball inside the eight," Simpson said. "We're looking great right now, and the teamwork and chemistry- everything's there right now."
Their game Sunday is at 1:00 PM, and is game four of seven straight road games. Their next home match-up will be April 18 against Regis.
