GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) The Colorado Mesa cycling team pulled out a huge victory at the Division II USA Cycling Track National Championships.

Now it's time for the mountain bikers to shine on their home grounds in the conference championships October 5th-6th.

Over ten regional collegiate teams will make their way to the Valley looking to finish as the conference champs. This marks the final big race before mountain bike nationals at the end of October meaning it's a perfect time to size up the competition.

"They want to have the national championship jersey as well," said Patric Rostel, CMU cycling coach. "I think we have a good shot at doing it. We just have to see how the other teams are."

Riders will compete in three events - short track, downhill, and cross country. Colorado Mesa is allowing the public to participate. Men and women can register for $25. Juniors can register for $15.
