GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Though no football players out of the RMAC went in the 2014 NFL draft, at least one will get a real shot with an NFL team: conference defensive player of the year and All-American Jake Edmiston.

Though he led all of DII in tackles as a senior linebacker, he'll tryout as a long snapper during the Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks' rookie mini-camp.

The tryouts begin Friday, end Sunday, and Edmiston hopes to hear good news by the end of the weekend and make his hometown proud.

"I want to be able to be that guy that shows what hard work and dedication, that kind of thing can do," Edmiston said. "Pay-off for a small town guy who's, you don't have to be the best athlete to be able to make it. It's hard work and work ethic and just believing in yourself, believing in your teammates. It can go a long way."
