GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. Kyle Freeland got his fifth start of the season in Thursday night's game against the Idaho Falls Chukars, leading the Grand Junction Rockies to the 8-5 win.

Aside from a couple unearned runs given up by Idaho Falls, Grand Junction earned their way to a four-run start topped by Forrest Wall's first home run of the season.

Though they wouldn't score again until the sixth inning, Rockies pitching kept the Chukars in check.

Freeland had an impressive line, going through five innings while giving up three hits, no runs and striking out five. He dropped his ERA to 1.56 on the way to his first win of the season.

Right-handed pitcher James Lomangino came in on relief, keeping the pace of no runs allowed going. It wouldn't be until the seventh inning that the Chukars were finally able to get through.

But for every run they scored, the Rockies had a response. And in the end their five runs and 11 hits wouldn't be enough to take the win as Grand Junction tops Idaho Falls 8-5. They improve to 3-2, playing again Friday night at 6:30.
