GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. The Colorado Rockies invited 24 non-roster athletes to join them in this year's Spring Training. Among the invites are former Grand Junction Rockies pitchers Jonathan Gray and Eddie Butler, along with Scott Oberg.
Butler and Gray have made a quick impact in the farm system. Both are among the top 50 prospects in baseball, coming in at 41 and 14 respectively.
This season it's likely both will start in Double-A Tulsa, a place where Butler landed mid-2013 season. Gray is currently one step below at High-A Modesto.
This season the Colorado Rockies are looking to get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2009 under second year manager Walt Weiss
