GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- On paper, the match up between Palisade and Rifle looked like a down-to-the-wire battle.
When it came to executing plays, however, the Rifle Bears proved their superiority on Thursday night.
The Bears knocked out the Bulldogs by a final score of 31-3. That's the largest margin of defeat for Palisade since 2005, and that loss came in a State Championship game.
Ryan Moeller provided two incredible touchdown runs for 74 and 77 yards that proved Rifle to be the much faster team on the field.
Adam Rice played a wonderful compliment for the Bears at quarterback as well. He was 5-for-8 with 106 yards through the air on Thursday.
Following the game, Palisade's quarterback Luke McLean reassured that his team will be back in contention and they will get back to work to get better as soon as Friday.
The Bulldogs are now 5-1 on the season and 3-1 in league. The Bears are 6-0 and 5-0 in league.
