MSC quarterbacks struggle in season opener
It took until tuesday morning for the Mavericks to announce that Robert Felberg would be their starting quarterback, and on thursday night, Felberg and the Mavs failed to find a groove. They lost in their season opener to the No. 14 Missouri Western State Griffons, 36-3.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO)-- It took until Tuesday morning for the Mavericks to announce that Robert Felberg would be their starting quarterback, and on Thursday night, Felberg and the Mavs failed to find a groove. They lost in their season opener to the No. 14 Missouri Western State Griffons, 36-3.
Felberg and Michael Mankoff split time at quarterback and combine for 6-19 with 38 yards and five interceptions. Felberg was 3-11 for 18 yards and three interceptions while Mankoff was 3-8 for 20 yards and two interceptions.
Mesa State falls to 0-1 and will play Nebraska-Kearney in their next game on Sept. 18.
