PITTSBURGH (AP) - Former World Cup skiing star and two-time olympian Jeremy Bloom is among three players axed in the Pittsburgh Steelers' first preseason roster cutdown.
Bloom was a fifth-round pick by Philadelphia in 2006 and was trying to make the Steelers as a kick returner but he couldn't win the job. He was cut Monday.
The former Colorado wide receiver and three-time World Champion skier made the 2002 and 2006 Olympic ski teams and won a record six
consecutive World Cup races in 2005.
Bloom is a native of Loveland (Colorado).
