GRAND JUNCTION - The Grand Junction Tigers knew the 2008 season would be a rebuilding year with new head coach Robbie Owens at the helm. But a 45-3 beat down in the home opener against Arvada West was the last thing they saw coming on Friday night.
The Tigers only three points of the game came in the second quarter on a 33 yard field goal that cut the A-West lead to 7-3.
The Wildcast capitalized on the Tigers multiple turnovers. Over 21 points were scored because of the Tigers mistakes.
The schedule doesn't get any easier for the Tigers either. Next weeks game comes against one of the top teams in the state when Junction travels to the Front Range to take on Pomona at 4:00 p.m.
