Palisade Uses Third Quarter Push To Top Pueblo County

PUEBLO, Colo - The Palisade Bulldogs protected their #2 ranking in 3A football on Saturday with a 20-6 win over the Pueblo County Hornets in Pueblo.

After a scoreless first half, Palisade returned from the break to score 20 points in the third quarter.

Jesse Brannon led the way with 109 yards on nine carries. His first score in the third put Palisade on the board.

Pueblo would pull to within one on a Marshall Stout one yard touchdown plunge, but the Bulldogs answered with another Brannon touchdown. Jake Appling made it a two score game with a three yard run later in that quarter.

Palisade is back on the field on Thursday. They'll host Battle Mountain at Stocker Stadium.
