Jacksonville, Fla. (AP) Authorities say Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle Richard Collier has been shot and faces life-threatening injuries.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says Collier and former Jaguars player Kenneth Pettway were outside an apartment early today waiting for some women they met at a club when a gunman shot into their car.

Sheriff's spokesman Ken Jefferson says Collier was shot several times but it's not clear where he was injured.

The reason behind the attack is unclear. The sheriff's office is investigating.
