Wildcats Take Five Sets To Top Tigers In Rivalry Match

FRUITA, Colo. - It took five sets, but the Fruita Monument Wildcats got the job done against the Grand Junction Tigers Thursday night three sets to two.

Thanks to strong serving by junior Kelsey Kiel, the Tigers won the opening set 25-20 after trailing 4-3 early on.

The two teams would trade sets the rest of the way with the Wildcats winning 20-25, 25-13, 22-25, 26-24, 15-9.

The match started almost 90 minutes later than scheduled because the J.V. game went a full five games as well. The Grand Junction Tigers junior varsity team beat the Wildcats J.V. team three sets to two.
