GRAND JUNCTION - It has been a week full of rivalry games in the Grand Valley. From softball, to volleyball, to the big football game on Friday night between the Grand Junction Tigers and the Fruita Monument Wildcats.
But on Thursday night, the lights shined brightly over the Central Warriors and Grand Junction Tigers softball teams at Mesa State College.
The Warriors jumped ahead 7-0 at one point thanks to a solo homer by Rachel Romine and a three run jack by Karen Hayter.
The Warriors went on to win the rivalry game 9-3.
Grand Junction did come up with a nice play in the top of the second inning when Kelsey Jull threw a Warriors runner out at the plate from center field.
