Hotchkiss Earns Bragging Rights Over Rival Paonia

PAONIA, Colo. - The Hotchkiss Bulldogs handed their rival Paonia Eagles a 23-8 loss on Friday night in Paonia. It's the first season that the two "up the road rivals" played a game with conference implications after Hotchkiss was moved down a class to 1A and into the 11-man conference with the Eagles.

Ethan Coe scored a pair of touchdowns for the Bulldogs who took a 16-8 lead into the half.

Paonia couldn't muster another score after Jordan Van Fleet tied the game early in the second quarter with a 15 yard touchdown run.

Both teams are on the road next week. Paonia visits Hayden. Hotchkiss goes to Rangely.
