SILVER CITY, N.M. - After dropping their first two games of the season to nationally ranked, non-conference opponents, the Mesa State Mavericks have rebounded with back-to-back wins against Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Foes.
Bobby Coy rushed for 160 yards and two touchdowns as the Mavs disposed of Western New Mexico on Saturday with a 31-7 road win.
Grand Junction Graduate Justin Murray hauled in four receptions for 140 yards and a score. The touchdown pass came from Phil Vigil led the way on offense with 250 yards through the air.
The Mavericks racked up 478 yards of total offense while holding the Mustangs to 285 and just 37 yards on the ground.
Mesa State is at home next Saturday for their homecoming game against Fort Lewis.
