GRAND JUNCTION - After a heart breaking loss to their arch rivals last weekend the Grand Junction Tigers came back strong to pick up their first win of the season 30-21 over Skyline on Friday afternoon.
Freshman quarterback Sean Rubalcaba connected with Ashur Verna for a 12 yard touchdown in the frist quarter to give the Tigers an early 10-0 lead.
That lead would grow when Rubalcaba capped a second quarter drive with a seven yard touchdown run to go up 16-0.
With the win Grand Junction improves to 1-4 on the season but it won't get any easier next week. The Tigers face second ranked Cherry Creek on the road on Saturday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m.
