Coy Runs Over Ore Diggers In 4th Quarter Comeback

GOLDEN, Colo. - Bobby Coy rushed for 199 yards and two touchdowns and the Mesa State Mavericks bounced back from a four point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Colorado School of Mines 27-24 in Golden on Saturday.

Mesa State jumped out to a 17-0 lead, but found themselves trailing after a David Pesek touchdown pass seconds into the games final quarter.

Colin Baker pushed the lead to four on a 30 yard field goal with less than eight minutes remaining in the game.

But Coy capped a 5 play 55 yard game winning drive with a 43 yard touchdown. His longest run of the day gave the Mavs a 27-24 win.

Mesa remains unbeaten in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Play.
