DENVER (AP) - Former Colorado State football coach Sonny Lubick and recently retired Denver Broncos receiver Rod Smith are among the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame's six-person class.
The selection committee named the choices Monday. Also selected were former Colorado Rockies chairman Jerry McMorris and former NHL star and long-time Colorado hockey figure Ralph Backstrom.
Lubick compiled a 108-74 record with the Rams from 1993-2007. He led the program to nine bowl berths and six conference championships.
Smith retired last summer. He set team records for career receptions, yards receiving, touchdown catches and total touchdowns.
Also selected were Lt. Col. John Mosley, an ex-Colorado A&M (Colorado State) standout football player and wrestler and Laurice Hunter, the trailblazing volleyball coach at Evergreen High School.
All will be inducted on April 14.
