GRAND JUNCTION - The Central Warriors defeated the Grand Junction Tigers for the first time since 2004 with a 12-7 victory at Stocker Stadium on Saturday night.
The Warriors got on the board in the first quarter with a 19 yard touchdown pass to Scott Clow, but both offenses would give way to the defense until the fourth quarter.
Central extended their lead to 12-0 with a Nolan Curtis touchdown mid-way through the 4th. Grand Junction countered with a touchdown to cut the lead back to one posession.
They would get no closer than that, however. The final Tiger drive was haulted near midfield as time expired in the game.
