DENVER (AP) - The Nuggets have waived five players, trimming their roster to 14.

The five players waived Thursday are guards Mateen Cleaves and Smush Parker and forwards Nick Fazekas, James Mays and Ruben Patterson.

Cleaves averaged 3.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists in five preseason games. Parker averaged 5.3 points, 3.3 assists and 1.3 rebounds in four games.

Fazekas averaged 2.0 points and 2.5 rebounds in four games; Mays 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in two games; and Patterson 7.3 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists in six games.
