RIFLE, Colo. - After a close loss to the number one team in the state last week, the second ranked Palisade Bulldogs rebounded to finish off the regular season with a blowout win over the Rifle Bears 48-6 on Friday night.
Bulldogs runningback Travis Fehlman ran wild against the Bears defense scoring on runs from 68 and 54 yards away. The second touchdown run came in the third quarter to give the Bulldogs a 42-0 lead.
Matt Young also returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns in the win. In the first half he rumbled 32 yards on the return for six and then scored again in the third quarter with a 17 yard return to give Palisade a 48-0 lead at that point.
Rifle's only touchdown came with ten seconds left in the game on a five yard touchdown pass.
Number 1 Glenwood Springs defeated Moffat County to lock up the 3A Western Slope League title 41-7.
