GRAND JUNCTION - In the biggest offensive output of the season the Grand Junction Tigers finished the year with a big 42-22 win over the Palmer Terrors on Thursday night at Stocker Stadium.
Tigers head coach Robbie Owens dubbed the game the "Blackout Bowl" after having 500 black t-shirts distributed to students and fans at the game.
Owens also re-wrote the playbook for the game against Palmer. The Tigers scored on a 43 yard direct snap to the halfback, a reverse kickoff return, and a reverse pass from Ashur Verna to sophomore Cory Derush.
Junior Jayke Brock scored the rushing touchdown on the direct snap and sophomore Tyler Winder scored on the kickoff return.
Senior defensive back Tyler Palmer intercepted two passes in his final game as a high school football player. Palmer is entertaining recruits from various colleges across the nation.
