OLATHE, Colo - Runningback David Rhodes topped the century mark again and to help the Olathe Pirates defend their home turf with a win over previously undefeated Faith Christian in their state 2A semifinals on Saturday.
Olathe (13-0) will now face Erie for the 2A title. Erie upset previously undefeated Platte Canyon in the other semifinal.
Rhodes also scored a touchdown in the win. The other Olathe touchdown came in the second quarter on a 24-yard pass from Garhett Jurgens to Dylan Markley in the endzone to give the Pirates a 7-0 lead.
Faith Christian scored in the third quarter but missed the PAT, making the score 7-6.
Markley returned a punt into Eagles' territory in the fourth to set up Rhodes' 5-yard touchdown.
The championship game will be played Nov. 29 at Legacy Stadium in Aurora, Colo.Erie defeated Platte Canyon 28-21.
Glenwood Springs remained undefeated, beating Mountain View 47-14 to reach the 3A semifinals. They will meet Fort Morgan, who defeated D'Evelyn 42-24. The 3A championship will follow the 2A title game at Legacy Stadium next Saturday.
