Glenn Fired, Wyoming AD Discusses Coach Search

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Athletics Director Tom Burman says Wyoming will move quickly to fill the coaching vacancy created by the firing of Joe Glenn but won't let recruiting needs rush the decision.

A day after firing Glenn, Burman declined to discuss specific candidates for the Wyoming job but said the search will look across the country and up and down the college divisions.

Burman says the University is contacting the four high school players who've already made commitments to come to Wyoming next year to encourage them to still come despite Glenn's departure.

However, Burman also says the squad will have a good group of juniors and seniors, along with underclassmen who got experience this year, to carry the team in 2009.

Burman wouldn't discuss the salary he plans to offer an incoming coach but says it will be competitive within the Mountain West Conference.
