BOULDER, Colo. (AP ) - Cory Higgins scored 24 points and Dwight Thorne added 14 to lead Colorado to a 73-59 victory over Lafayette on Tuesday night.
Austin Dufault scored 11 points and Nate Tomlinson had 10 for Colorado (3-1). The Buffaloes forced 19 turnovers.
Andrew Brown led Lafayette (2-3) with 13 points for the Leopards, losers of three straight.
Lafayette nearly eliminated an 11-point deficit in the first half to trail 22-21. Colorado outscored the Leopards 12-6 over the last 6:32 to lead 34-27 at the half.
Lafayette used a 3-pointer by Jeff Kari at 12:10 of the second half to pull within 43-39. Thorne's jump shot helped the Buffaloes widen their lead to 57-43.
