FRUITA, Colo. - The Grand Junction Tigers girl's basketball team had a tough time erasing an early first quarter deficit in a 70-50 loss against the Columbine Rebels at the Wildcat Invitational on Thursday afternoon.

The Rebels jumped to a 7-0 lead in the opening quarter before Paula Lage scored the Tigers first points of the game on a sweeping drive into the lane.

Grand Junction's next game will be against Palisade at 4:30 on Friday afternoon, the second day of the Wildcat Invitational at Fruita Monument High School.
